"Around the Corner" by Andrew Wyeth; My all time favorite American painter.

Update: Andrew Wyeth passed away January 16th May he rest in peace.
A favorite quote: "Really, I think one's art goes only as far and as deep as your love goes," Wyeth said in a Life magazine interview in 1965."I do an awful lot of thinking and dreaming about things in the past and the future — the timelessness of the rocks and the hills — all the people who have existed there," he once said. "I prefer winter and fall, when you feel the bone structure in the landscape — the loneliness of it — the dead feeling of winter. Something waits beneath it; the whole story doesn't show.
I think anything like that — which is contemplative, silent, shows a person alone — people always feel is sad. Is it because we've lost the art of being alone?"

Do you remember on Breakfast at Tiffany's when Sally Tomato gives Holly the weather report and says: "Snow flourishes expected in New Orleans"? And she's like, snow in New Orleans? yeah, whatever. Well, 40 something years after and Tomato's report was right! It's snowing in NOLA and it looks just dreamy!!!

1. The Four Agreements: A Toltec Wisdom Book by don Miguel Ruiz--- Jen's (Raising Granola) basketball coach and mentor gave her this book during a tough time in her basketball career. In case you were wondering, the Four Agreements are:

BE IMPECCABLE WITH YOUR WORD
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love. (Hmmm, does this mean I have to take the "Go Fug Yourself" link off my page...)

DON'T TAKE ANYTHING PERSONALLY
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won't be the victim of needless suffering. (This is a deep one)

DON'T MAKE ASSUMPTIONS
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness, and drama.

ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgement, self-abuse, and regret.
